Disney announced that both Chinese and American audiences will love the live action remake of the famous cartoon "Mulan."

The remake of the famous traditional Chinese story of a young girl who took her father's place in war to save him is facing a lot of criticism on social media as it was rumored that it will feature a white male European sailor who saved the young girl's life and captured her heart, suggesting that the "White Knight" will be taking the lead role.

It was started when a spec script for "Mulan" appeared on a blog detailing how a European trader falls in love with Mulan and decides to help the Chinese Imperial Army to win her.

However, according to a report, fans no need to worry as Disney hired new writer to work on the live action film.

"The spec script was a jumping-off point for a new take on the story that draws from both the literary ballad of Mulan and Disney's 1998 animated film," the source said to Vulture. "Mulan is and will always be the lead character in the story, and all primary roles, including the love interest, are Chinese."

"Mulan is and will always be the lead character in the story, and all primary roles, including the love interest, are Chinese," the source added.

Meanwhile, the production team are reported to be scouting Asian stars to be casted on "Mulan."
