On Thursday, the China National Arts Fund (CNAF) shared that the Chinese government has spent more than 1.8 billion yuan in the past three years for almost 2,000 domestic art projects throughout the country.

In the symposium held to mark the CNAF's third anniversary, at least 15,900 projects were received by the state fund for funding applications since it was established in 2013.

The projects were divided in various categories, which includes fine arts, stage productions, communication and exchange.

Most of the programs that have garnered financial support from the CNAF are in theater projects, accounting to almost 60% of all programs that won national awards. According to CNAF head Cai Wu, the support given by CNAF allowed the creation of high quality works.

CNAF was established on December 30, 2013 as a way for the government to increase cultural influence.
