Dare To Believe

Every single one of us who have been born again has been given the gift of faith.

When faith came into our hearts, it was already perfect; but we have to unwrap ourselves to unleash its power. Faith is powerful, did you know that?

Our minds, however, aren't as daring as faith is.

The mind works with what it knows, what it's sure of. It works best if it can calculate and reason. The mind is the human soul. It operates by the flesh.

Faith, on the other hand, works with our spirits.

There are no limits as to what faith can accomplish, but it is in enmity with the mind just as how the soul is at war with the spirit.

The soul says, "No, you can't do that," while the spirit says, "Oh yes, we can!"

Jesus, after the Mount of Transfiguration, came down the mountain and found his disciples unable to cast out a demon from a boy. The father of the boy explained to Jesus that, "Your disciples couldn't do it." He then continues to explain the situation of his son, and pleads to Jesus, "But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us." Jesus replied with these wonderful words: "If you can? Everything is possible for one who believes." (Mark 9:15-27).

Just imagine Jesus when he said, "If you can?" Personally, I imagine him saying these words with a raised eyebrow. You know the feeling when you're so good at something and someone asks you if you can do it. It sounded like a challenge and Jesus knew his own faith and what it is able to accomplish through the power of God.

I just love this verse from the Book of Mark:

If you can? Everything is possible for one who believes.

All things are possible for the one who has faith.

Anything is possible if you have faith.

As far as possibilities go,

everything is possible for the person who believes (Mark 9:23)

By using words such as everything, anything and all things, God is saying that there are no limitations.

But we have our minds to overcome because it is the mind who sets the limit.

Now a question arises: how much are you willing to believe?

How far are you willing to go as much as faith is concerned?

Jesus walked on water and Peter was able to do the same. Jesus cursed a fig tree and it withered overnight. He was able to turn water into wine, make a lame man walk, make a blind person see, make a deaf man hear, even resurrect the decaying corpse of Lazarus.

Jesus lived in the impossible, and if we let our faith loose, we can too.

Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. -John 14:12 NIV

Are you able to believe what this verse says?

John 14:12 is an open invitation for those who are willing to dive in into an adventure with the Lord.

If you can believe that you too can walk on water, then it is possible.

Walking on water is walking in the realm of the impossible just as Jesus did. You don't have to go out to the beach to do this. I believe in its literal meaning, but there's also a figurative definition.

Your water could be in the desert. It could be that God is calling you to a different nation to do many mighty works in His name.

Abraham laughed at His promise. His water was Isaac. Having a son was his impossible, but although Abraham could not believe in it right away, God proved that He is faithful. God proved that He is the God who makes the impossible possible.

Take these questions in your life. Can you dare to believe? Are you willing to walk on water?

Let me ask you, what are your dreams? What are your ambitions? It is likely that its a part of God's calling to your life.

I don't know what God is calling you to do; butm use your God-given faith to drive you. Unleash it in your life and pursue the path that the Lord is inviting you to take even if it seems unlikely to happen. Dare yourself.

Dare to step out in faith. It's not you who's gonna get you to your impossible, it's God. Just trust Him. He is more than able to get you there as long as you follow Him.

Dear brother or sister in Christ, remember who your God is and what He can do.

Again, dare to step out in faith.

Dare to believe.
