Billy Graham Rapid Response Team continues to send help to the victims of Hurricane Irma. According to the latest news on September 21, the chaplains are deployed to the shelters or communities in seven cities in Florida: Fort Myers, Key West, Tallahassee, Tampa, Cocoa Beach, Naples and Jacksonville.

"People left their homes quickly during the evacuation, and now in many cases those homes are badly damaged or completely destroyed. For many, their jobs, plans and dreams have been washed away," said Jack Munday, international director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team. "Our desire is to listen, encourage and offer God's hope and comfort as they begin the long process of rebuilding their lives from this tragedy."

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is deploying in coordination with the Samaritan's Purse, which is spearheaded by Franklin Graham. Together, the two ministries help to address the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the affected of Hurricane Irma.

It can be recalled that Hurricane Irma was reported to be an extremely powerful and catastrophic Cape Verde type hurricane. It was also reported to be strongest since Dean in 2007 when it comes to maximum sustained winds.

The hurricane hit areas like Cuba, Florida, Bahamas, Caoe Verde and Caribbean. It made a landfall on waters of Cuba and Florida in September 6, 2017. As of September 19, the hurricane has caused at least 102 deaths.
