On Wednesday, the Chinese state media reported that the Communist Party of China started a meeting to ensure the final preparations for the key party congress later this month go smoothly.

According to the report of Xinhua news, the seventh plenary session of the Central Committee will be reviewing draft reports regarding the party's work, anti-corruption and discipline commission and which amendments will be made to the party's constitution that will be discussed at the 19th Party Congress on October 18.

The congress would also "summarize historical progress and precious experiences" in advancing socialism with Chinese traditions and beliefs with President Xi Jinping in the party's core. Xinhua also said "the congress will also thoroughly examine the current international and domestic situation and draw out guidelines and policies that respond to the call of the times."

It is uncertain what would be the contents of the speeches of key party leaders, including President Xi, will be for the opening session; but it is expected that the speech would center on ideology rather on the policies the party would be supporting in the next few months. It is also uncertain how long the congress would last, however, a long communique discussiing the party's ideology would be posted in Xinhua.

Last year, the party proclaimed Xi as the "core" leader, a major booster to his position in the party prior to the incoming congress, especially as a new Standing Committee will be introduced alongside the party's constitution.

The incoming key party congress is expected by experts as the event where President Xi Jinping will announce further measures that would secure his position and power in the country.
