Oftentimes, we come across that 2:00 AM question, where we just contemplate on random dark thoughts. "Why are we alone?"  or sometimes, we ask ourselves "Do we deserve love?"

We have waited so long for love that it's either too far to reach or too impossible to believe in.

In this era where people care so much, as Christians we often get the feeling that sometimes, being alone sucks.

Yes, we believe that true love waits, that the Lord has promised us someone in the future, however, that love doesn't just pertain to that certain kind of love.

Sometimes, it pertains to that "friendship" kind of love.  Someone whom we will treat as a brother, a sister, a confidant.  Someone we can trust.

Love, is a four letter word but weights much more that how it is spelled. People die for love, they will do everything for love, fight for it, suffer for it, cry tears for it.

However, the Lord doesn't want us to feel that way: to feel conflicted in the middle of the night, while crying ourselves to sleep.

Take example, the Bible character Zacchaeus, because of his love for himself, he became someone who is despised by everyone in his community.

Zacchaeus, the tax collector who will double or triple everything.  But when he met God, everything changed.

The feeling of emptiness has been filled with God.  Zacchaeus became someone who give because of love- his selfishness forgotten.

As the bible says in Luke 19:10  "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Before we received Christ in our lives, we are as lost as Zacchaeus, we are as empty as he is.  But God changed everything when He came into our life.

Even though we sometimes wake up thinking about random thoughts that often drives us insane, we should always remember that there is a God who loves us, and for us to be able to fully experience that kind of love, we must be willing to share also.

So, the question is: Are we deserving of love?

No, we are not, but because of God's grace, the un-deserving becomes entitled to love and be loved in return.
