On October 14, the Xixia Church of Ningxia distributed a total grant of 3000 yuan to five poor students from Yinchuan No. 18 Middle School. A church staff tells CCD that the aid program was initiated in 2010.
Founded in 2005, the church stands as one of the most representative churches in Yinchuan, owning more than 400 believers.
Since the "Religious Charity Week" was set up, the program is supposed to promote charity programs during the special week every year. The church, the school and the sponsors have signed a tripartite agreement that promises to aid five middle school students with each getting a yearly grant of 600 yuan each from their first school year to the third one. Currently, the program has given financial aid to two batches of students.
In the afternoon, the church also visited the seniors of the home for the aged situated in Xixia District, bringing bread and warm clothes, as well as wishes of good health to them.
