A deadly earthquake jolted Christchurch, a city in the south New Zealand, on 14 November 2016 at 0:05 a.m. local time.

The local media reported the quake's depth at 15 kilometers. Aftershocks continuously struck the country, including 33 above magnitude 4 and 4 above magnitude 6. The first wave of tsunami hit at the South Island. Affected by the disaster, many roads parted or collapsed in Christchurch and some landslides may occur. Many residents' houses were shaken violently.

It is known that eighty tourists of Jiangsu were traveling in Auckland, in the North Island of New Zealand, when the quake struck. Their safety has been secured.

Some Chinese Christians even appeal on the prayer, "As Christians, we know that this is one of the signs of Jesus' second coming. The day of the Lord is near, so near! Pray that God will let us be more watchful and repent and pray more! Pray that God will raise up more servants to preach his Gospel and save more lost souls!"
