Born in Xiangshan County, Zhejiang Province, Mr. Huang Detang (1886-1981) was a faithful servant of God, preaching the gospel barefoot and fasting every morning. Here is the story about the wonderful birth of a former Buddhist's son.

While he was recovering from his leg-related disease, he had many spiritual dreams in which an old man came to say that he had been sent by Mr. Lin Xicun who wanted Huang to pray for him to bear a son. Lin’s home was located in the Wang Ji'ao Village, more than ten miles away.

As a Buddhist layman, Lin was well known for his high level of education and good deeds, but Mr. Huang was not familiar with him. In his dream, he visited Lin’s house with a doctor who performed a laparotomy for his wife with Huang’s help. Waking up, Huang was surprised and went to ask his cousin’s wife living nearby whether he had a son. She said she did not know much about his family, though her mother's family was in Wang Ji'ao.

So, he walked to Lin’s house with a cane, explaining the dream and praying for him. Since then, they became good friends and Lin’s wife gave birth to a son in the second year.

Later, Lin told him that his dream had come true. Though he was a devout Buddhist with a Buddhist prayer room in his home, Lin became a Christian after thirty years of prayer from Huang.

"I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. (1 Corinthians 9:22)," Huang said.
