On Oct. 2, Hangzhou Christian Xietong Gospel Church held the Completion of the New Church Thanksgiving Service. Xietong Gospel Church is located on the shore of the Qiantang River, close to the Olympic Sports Centre. It can hold 2000 people to worship. Joseph Gu, chairman of Zhejiang CCC, encouraged believers to build "a church after God's heart" together, a holy church full of thanksgiving, overcoming trials and practicing vision.

According to the news from CCC&TSPM website, the history of Xietong Gospel Church can be traced back to 80 years ago. In 1935 British missionaries came to China and built a church here. It was at first named "Xiaoqijia Shadi Gospel Church", later renamed "Shadi Gospel Church". The Gospel Church, through the periods of startup, development, suspension and waiting, was rebuilt in 1985.

In 2013, the former Xietong Gospel Church had to remove. In God's guide, after praying together, Xietong Gospel Church bought a land not away from the former address under the support of the government and rebuilt on Nov. 2, 2013. The new church covers 17.5 mu(2.88 acre), the above ground construction area is 7800 square meters and the underground is 3556 square meters(offers 73 sparking space). It is linked by two buildings, a three-storey building (canteen on the ground storey, the main church on the first and half storey on the second ) and another multiple-use seven-storey building, set with offices, traing rooms and accommodation reception rooms.

According to the introduction of the commerative album 80 Years Together made by this church, there is no "Xietong" in the name of the church, but it was renamed "Xietong Gospel Church" to memorize the work together brothers and sisters paid in the process of building the new church. The presbyter Matthew said the brothers and sisters worked together and gave money. Within twenty-three months' construction, more than ten thousand Christians took part in the construction.
