The staff from Huaxiang (Flower Lane) Church is calling for prayers to assist in supporting the construction of their new church. As listed in the article posted on the church's official site on June 14, they hope these prayers would help in inspiring the church in selecting the perfect design and construction product that would please God and help them select the building designer, construction team and staff that would monitor the project.

The church first gave thanks to God for the beginning of the construction and then prayed for the staff who direct the construction saying, "May God grant them the heart of unity and keep them healthy with living spiritual lives, their family peaceful and happy."

Besides praying for the construction efforts and the staff working on the project, the following aspects will also be covered in the prayer list sought by the Church: the underground construction and quality control, security and cost; the report of the construction procedures to the authorities for approval and the fitout team to be selected for the project; the land acquisitions of Jinshan Church, Cuilian Church and Ma'an Church; the construction of Puxia Church and Xiyuan Site for Gathering.

The new church is said to open at the end of the year for its 20,000 parishioners. The church's construction project would cover 7,500 square meters with 2 underground floors and a structure that can handle an excellent pipe organ.

Formally named Central Institutional Church or Siong Iu Dong, the church was founded in 1915 as one of the Methodist churches in Fuzhou. Currently, the church has seven branch sites for various gatherings.
