The Bible talks about how to raise children several times. Psalm 127:3 states: "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him." So parents should train their children in a way that pleases God and makes them grow according to truth and form a proper worldview, philosophy, and values.

When it comes to training children, focus not only on their physical needs but also caring for and guiding them from your heart. Children are the flowers of a garden and parents the gardeners. Guide your children toward God so they grow naturally. What children will become is closely related to their parents' teachings during childhood. So the Lord said to his people, "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Below are ten Bible passages parents can often read with their children.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast.

Philippians 4:6-7  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;     in all your ways submit to him,    and he will make your paths straight.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

James 1:19-20 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
