The medical team of Bethesda Volunteer Service Center offered treatment to people in Gaoyang Village.

On October 2, 2017, Bethesda Volunteer Service Center in Cangnan, Wenzhou, went to Gaoyang Church in Gaoyang Village, Nanping, a northwestern city in Fujian Province, and offered a free clinic for hundreds of local villagers.

The treatment covered internal medicine, acupuncture, and acupotomy. There were many classic cases in the acupuncture department. Doctor Liang cured a man in his 60s suffering from heel heat for years with acupuncture. An elderly woman at 65 had a backache and felt pain all the time for years. Liang used small needle knives to treat her and she immediately felt better. The method was also effective on a woman who suffered from postpartum lumbago and leg pain and had remained sick after seeing doctors for three decades.

The villagers were amazed at their medical skills and urged their relatives and friends to receive treatment.

In the evening, twenty locals prayed the sinner's prayer in an evangelistic meeting held by an evangelistic band.

Mrs. Lin, the head of Gaoyang Church, stated that the church was founded in 2000 when a few seniors accepted the gospel in a hospital and reached her. Prestigious with locals, the ex-Buddhist preached the gospel and produced much fruit. In three years, the number of the congregation grew to forty or fifty. In 2013, Lin started construction and a three-story church with living space was completed, costing over 1.5 million yuan.
