Upon the invitation of Shaanxi Agape Community Care Association, six volunteers from the Hanzhong Christian Social Service Department of Shaanxi province visited a local children's welfare home on March 12, 2019.

Founded in 1939 by a philanthropist named Zhi Cheng, the Hanzhong Social Welfare Institute serves 193 orphans and children with disabilities as well as elderly residents.

According to the website of Shaanxi Christianity, it states that most of the children are abandoned by their parents due to their congenital diseases and 80% of the children have never left the agency.

Despite having enough food and clothing, there is a lack of love since a child-care worker usually needs to look after four children.

The volunteers were touched by those innocent children who clutched their hands.

Statistics from the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs show that there are 350,000 orphans in the country and the past decade has seen a rise in the number of handicapped children.
