Former TSPM Chairman Elder Ji Jianhong Dies in Nanjing

On May 30, 2019, Elder Ji Jianhong, former chairman of the seventh national Three -Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), died at the age of 87 in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. 

According to CCC&TSPM, the funeral service was held Monday at Nanjing's funeral home.

Rev. Wu Wei, president of China Christian Council, presided over the ceremony.

Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the TSPM, outlined a brief biography of the executive vice president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, saying that Elder Ji contributed to the development of theology, church system, theological education, and Christian social service during his time in office. The former Chinese leader also established the overseas relations department and initiated international exchanges. 

After Elder Ji retired, he still cared about the development of the Chinese church and gave advice regarding the sinicization of Christianity.
