On December 7, 2019,  a thanksgiving ceremony was held at Ergong Proestant church in Urumchi, Xinjiang province. Pastors, deacons and coworkers from 22 churches in the city gathered in the new church.

According to the China Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CCC&TSPM), the thanksgiving ceremony was hosted by Rev. Zhang Shuzhi of the Er'gong church.

Rev. Fan Chenguang preached the message from Mark 6:34-43 and Psalm 118:22-29. The theme was to encourage co-workers to expand their horizons and look outward to see the needs of the surrounding people, the needs of society, the country, and the nation and to enhance their confidence by looking upwards to their God and not looking at themselves, the environment, or people. They should prepare themselves to be the vessels of God having faith, expand their life and look inward, and give all that they have for their Lord on the day which Jehovah has made.

Rev. Zhang Shuzhi briefly reviewed the construction and development of Er'gong church. Beginning in the 1970s, the Er'gong church started from a small family gathering of more than a dozen people to now thousands of people. Every time the church has gone through hardships, it has experienced God's grace. The new church is more than 200 meters away from the old church site and is 1,231 square meters in size on the upper and lower floors.
