On April 24, Beijing Yanqing Church launched a new ministry - transcribing the Bible.

The church also says that hand copying the Bible differs from reading, reciting the Bible, listening to sermons or meditating, which enables the copyist to have distinctive spiritual experience. Since the Bible is God-breathed, the copyist touches God's word with pen.

Moreover, it introduces the six points of the meaning of transcribing the Bible on its social platform "wechat":

1. It cleanses man's deeds with God's word in his heart. (Psalm 1: 1-2)

2. It gives wisdom and joy to man. (Psalm 119:103)

3. It makes man know God and experience His faithfulness and love with holding His promises.  (Psalm 119:41)

4. It directs the life path of man. (Psalm 119:105)

5. It trains man to live a godly and holy life. (Numbers 15:40)

6. It comforts and heals man's body, soul and spirit. (Jobs 6:10)

In recent years, a lot of local churches have held hand copying the Bible campaigns to help the spiritual life of the congregation grow. It reveals that a large percentage of believers have gained a lot from the campaigns.

For example, last year Shenyang CCC/TSPM  intiated a contest of transcribing the Bible on the computer. As a result,  919 netizens have joined in the contest with 32 finishing copying the Bible in the past over one year.

In addition, early in 2014 Beijing Fengtai Church began the campaign of hand copying the Bible with the award that whoever finished copying in a notebook that costed him or her 10 yuan from the church got back the money if he or she returned the note books so as to inspire believers to draw near to God's word.

"You have to read a verse four to five times before writting it down." Said a believer who participated in the campaign. He shared he was more impressed with verses in this way.

A sister from Shenyang Xita Church, who finished copying the entire book in forty months, confessed that, "I forgot the verses in an instant after reading the Bible in the past for a poor memory due to my old age. But now, I can memorize and comprehend more deeply and be nearer to the Lord, through transcription."

A pastor from the church said, "copying the Bible once equals to reading it seven times."

Even a brother from Dalian gets rid of online game addiction by writing out the Bible within three years. He also builds an online team with members who join in copying the Bible including his two daughters.

Besides, a previous gambling gaming tycoon became a Christian when he was copying the Bible in prison. Free from prison, he is a preacher and anti-drug volunteer.
