Recently, the "Violin Church" situated in Foshan, Guangdong launched a fundraising campaign online to pay off the church construction debt through an online crowd funding platform.

The post started with this message, "The congregation has tried their utmost best to donate while taking their hometown churches into account since 90% of them move to work in Yanbu from poorer areas in the provinces. Currently, the total church construction costs 2.45 million yuan and there's a debt of over 950,000 yuan to pay off. If you feel moved, please pray for the "Violin Church"; If you have the capacity, please give donations; If you have the light, please give suggestions to the church. Every support helps the church."

In 2011, when Wang returned to Yanbu after graduation from Baptist Theological Seminary Singapore, he got to know that Christians here longed to build a new church for seven or eight years already. The old small church building purchased through "field exchange" after the completion of religion policy covering more than 200 square meters couldn't hold over 100 Christians in a service, thus the need for a new church.

To promote the management of local Christianity in the area, the government of Nanhai district allocated a land with the area of 3916 square meters to Yanbu Church, which was then asked to move and rebuild a new church in 2011.

Wang said, to his surprise, the allocated land was "simply a garbage dump" covered with waste, rubbish with sewage running everywhere and electric wires twisting like a spider web in the sky.

After the prayer, Wang had a vision - to build a violin-shaped church on the ruins and make it a place of praise, which confused the church's co-workers.

However, the new church was dedicated on November 2, 2013 and  finally accepted on December 22, 2015 as he insisted.
