A photo gallery about the "smallest" church which area is only some ten square meters, published on local news-site online by this June, has attracted much attention.

A female staff of the church, in an interview with CCD on July 1, claimed that she and the believers there were not aware of the attention to the nondescript small church.

"A few days ago there came several people who claimed their mothers believe in Jesus. They wanted to come in and have a look and took some photos then left."  She said.

Does the church really just have about ten square meters? She replied, yes.

However, behind the tiny chapel there's another house that can take in 70 or 80 people to gather at one time, made of colored steel tiles with the area of about 80 square meters.

Located in a rural village of Liupanshui, Guizhou, the so-called smallest church is named as Mountain Foot Tree Gospel Church. There're a couplet on the sides of the doorframe of the church, depicting the salvation.

Tracing back to the church history, the female co-worker tells CCD that a grandmother from the North China evangelized in the Mountain Foot Tree Community and founded the church. At present some young believers serve here to replace her for her age.

The congregation consists of a large percentage of seniors and few young people.

It is said that no other church surrounds it and it takes around one hour to go to the nearest one.

She adds that the church plans to build a new church for the nearby houses have been torn down. Nonetheless, they face two dilemmas now: no land and money.

"Regarding our church relocation issue, we went to the related religious departments of the county government. Some leaders came to the scene to solve itthrough negotiation, saying that (they) would figure out the relocation issue as soon as possible for us. But currently there is no news."

"Our church becomes a dangerous house. Brothers and sisters, please pray for our church to change the present situation of Mountain Foot Tree Church and hope that we can have a safe place for services."
