There is a point of view spreading among some believers that ministers' wives have the most difficult job in the world. They are unseen on the podiums and their services are unknown.

Wang is a full-time minister in a rural house church in central China's Henan Province. His wife basically carries the family's burden on herself. In addition to the daily routines, she spends most of her spare time making fenpi, sheet jelly made from bean or sweet potato starch, which is the main source of income for the family.

Speaking of his wife, Wang has endless grateful anecdotes. His wife had tuberculous meningitis in her 20s prior to their marriage and it was healed with all her family believing in Christ and praying for her recovery.

"My family was very poor back then and I knew nothing other than preaching," said Wang. With the help of a matchmaker, the minister, who only knew preaching, and the woman, whose illness was healed, started dating. He had his doubts about the marriage; but, decided to marry her when his friend told him that "our lives are all in the hands of God"

Wang's wife is still very healthy and they have three children who were beyond everyone's expectations.

Although there are hardships in the ministry, the harmony of their family gives him a real sense of security. His wife's understanding towards his ministry and financial support are what makes him fully commit to shepherding the church, said Wang in an interview.

It is not easy to be a minister's wife, and it is even harder to support a ministerial husband wholeheartedly. Without the devotion and silent support of wives, ministers can't fully devote themselves to the path of ministry.

To ministers, it is of utmost importance to have the companionship, support, and encouragement of their wives!
