A new church in Fatazhai Village, Hezhang County, Bijie, Guizhou, was dedicated on July 30, 2017.
An elder from Yikeshu Church said that Brother Chen Zhongpin was the first convert in the village of Yi people. The village's Christians gathered in Yikeshu Church since 1974.
The church had a wish -- to build a church in the village, since it took more than two hours walk to arrive at Yikeshu Church and sometimes bad weather made the walk more dangerous.
In recent years, the total number of believers in Fatazhai village and a nearby village has increased to more than 100. The church thought that the development showed a ripe chance for new church construction.
Elder Chen Mingyou from the church said, "Thank the Lord that the congregation gave a total donation of more than 60,000 yuan in a short time after the construction site was settled. Moreover, Brother Zhang Zhengquan contributed a foundation of over 200 square meters."
The construction was completed in just over 20 days after the joint efforts of the members.
