Christians, See Yourselves The Way God Sees You

A girl sees herself.

We live in society and communities, influenced by the words and deeds of other people. When we are young, our parents' comments on us dominates our principles of conduct; when we are at school, teachers' evaluation about us is dominant to our learning attitudes; when we are in the workplace, what our bosses think of us plays a big part in our attitudes for work; when we get along with others, their feedbacks direct our action. Naturally, people care about what others think.

Jesus also kept people's sayings. Matthew 11:19 says, "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is proved right by her deeds." It can be seen that Jesus remembered what other people said about him. Different from us, Jesus still did what he should do, not caring about others' comments.  Jesus, a son of wisdom, did things full of justice and love.

However, we are prone to think in two ways when others don't think highly of us: seeing ourselves too highly or too lowly. It's hard to have a balance.

Then what should we do?

First of all, see yourself through God.

Don't care people's words or remarks, meditate on how God looks at you. We should trust in God's grace and meditate on His wide, long, high, and deep love. When we understand that God who creates the universe accepts us, we will no longer care the judges of others because God's love is the answer to everything. There is a way out when you see yourself through God's grace.

Secondly, see yourself correctly.

It means that you need to measure your deeds by the standard of truth. Ponder over whether what you do accords with truth. If you are slandered by your deeds that violate against truth, you should repent in front of God and accept others' guidance. If you are judged by your conduct that is biblical, pray that the Lord will give you the strength to keep going because it's a blessing to be falsely accused for the name of the Lord.

Actually, we can't control others' views of us no matter how perfect our conduct can be. Therefore, be yourself in truth and believe that God is responsible for us whatever other people think of us.

Then see you in a positive way.

In God's eyes, we are His children, humans He created, and people bought at the price of Jesus' blood. In His design, we can't be replaced by anyone also and have our distinct advantages.

Finally, meditate on God's word.

God's word is the only motivation of our conduct. Only when we have His word in our eyes can we have the power of victory over others' opinions, ejction, and judges. It is an inspiration to us, a comfort to our life, and the ability to help us stand firm in adversaries.

There are all kinds of others' comment on us throughout our life journeys. How could we escape them if so the Lord?

We can't change people's views, but we can widen our mind and tolerance by God's grace until one day we only care about God's eyes under all conditions.
