Fu Xianwei, Chairman of TSPM, Dies at 74

On August 20, 2018, Elder Fu Xianwei, chairman of China's registered church body, died in a Shanghai hospital, aged 74, according to CCC&TSPM.

The state-run organizations for the Protestant Churches in China said in attachment that the time of Fu's funeral and memorial service would be informed otherwise.

Born in Ningbo, Zhejiang, in 1944, Fu was ordained the elder of Shanghai Moore Memorial Church on May 26, 1996. He was the seventh general secretary of the Shanghai TSPM and the eighth chairman of the Shanghai TSPM. 

Afterward, he worked as the chairman of TSPM for two terms until his death. Fu was also the member of the Standing Committee of the eleventh, twelfth, and thirteenth CPPCC. 

The memorial service will be held at Shanghai Muen Church (Moore Memorial Church) on Sept. 6, 2018.
