Do These Ten Reasons Stop You from Being Grateful?

Today is Thanksgiving when we offer our thanks to God.

But do you struggle to be thankful? It seems that there is nothing special in your life deserving your gratitude.

Check out if the following ten reasons stop you from being grateful.

You become internally numb after following Christ over time.

Romans 12:2 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Does God really hear my prayer since my work performance fails to improve after becoming a Christian?

Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

My faith doesn't give me a husband or wife...

Psalm 62:5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

My life still has problems after my conversion to Christianity...

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

It's hard to get along with people around me and understand God's will.

John 13:35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Suffering from financial difficulties, why doesn't God give me more money?

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Why am I not feeling better since the Bible says He will heal all your diseases?

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

The husband-wife relationship is bad and sours with time.

Ephesians 4:2-3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Faith doesn't seem to help me handle my relation with my non-Christian mother-in-law who doesn't understand my religion.

1 Peter 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

Why God doesn't make my rebellious and intractable child obedient?

Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

There are thousands of reasons not to be grateful, but faith is not idolatry - our wishes will come true just by asking.

We should explain our life and circumstances through God's truth and focus on the Lord and wait for his working. Of course, we not only give thanks on Thanksgiving. Show gratitude during ordinary times because the true God is worthy of all praise and glory.
