Just like before, Huoquan Church initiates a consecutive 21-day fasting and prayer that starts from March 6 to March 26, to welcome the coming Easter, Baoji, Shaanxi.

According to the church's official website, this year's theme is "To Walk in the Light of the Lord".  (Isaiah 2:5) During the 21-day period, the church holds services from 19:30 to 21:30 after a bazaar every day.

"It's has been eight years since the first 21-day consecutive fasting and prayer began in 2009." Says the church. Rev. Jinfeng told CCD that the "21 days" was based on Daniel, the prophet's fasting which lasts 21 days in the Old Testament.

The church also gives three suggestions on the tips of fasting:

1. Drinking. Only water(not including drinks), solid food is not allowed during fasting. Note that you shouldn't have too much water, a few times a day with just a bottle each time.

2. During long fasts, hot showers may cause dizziness which leads to end the fasts and you may have foul breath so brush your teeth and rinse your mouth.

3. Don't engage in over-loaded work or sports, which may make you tired as an obstacle to fasting. It benefits your spirit by reading the Bible during the fast. Christians can gain faith, courage, trust and blessing when studying the Bible. Some can finish reading the whole Bible in long fasts.
