The Outline of the Five-year Plan (2018-2022) for Promoting Sinicization of Christianity was announced at the fifth joint meeting of the Standing Committees of the Ninth TSPM and the Seventh CCC held in Shanghai on November 28 to 29, 2017.

The outline urged continual theological construction for the sinicization of Christianity, standardizing theological education, expressing the Christian faith in the form of Chinese culture, and doing philanthropy and charity. Related rules for the implementation of the plan were made.

Reports on the work summary of the Chinese government's umbrella organizations for Protestant churches over 2017 and the plan for 2018 were also released.

The CCC&TSPM will study the guiding principles next year from the 19th CPC National Congress and carry out the revised regulations on religious affairs published on September 7, 2017. They will prepare for the next joint meeting and promote the sinicization of Christianity by constructing theology. Visitation and investigation will be carried out and social service brands created. What's more, it will strengthen online media ministries for sharing the stories of the Chinese church with the world.
