On January 17-18, 2018, the CCC&TSPM held a training program for volunteers who serve special children in Xuchang, Henan.

The program was one part of the one-year special children care project funded by Evangeliska Östasienmissionen and carried out in Xuchang and Jiaozuo. It was aimed at alleviating discrimination against children with cognitive disabilities and encouraging the church to offer care and support to them.

Forty-five volunteers, program leaders, church workers, and kindergarten teachers from Xuchang and Jiaozuo attended it. Two teachers spoke.

Through a game, tasks, and skits, the participants gained more understandings of cognitive disorders and learned how to communicate with parents, establish relationships with special families, and interact with special children as well as caveats.
