The funeral service of Hong Kong veteran actor Ng Man-tat who died of liver cancer at the age of 70 on February 27  was held in a Christian style in the underground worship hall of Hung Hom Universal Funeral Parlour.

A memorial service originally scheduled to be conducted was cancelled, in order to avoid further grief to the family and the risk of the coronavirus pandemic infection.

Starting at around 2 pm on Sunday, his friends and former cooperative celebrities and directors, such as Chow Yun-fat, Jacky Cheung, Aaron Kwok, Leon, Sandra Ng, Sharla Cheung, Adam Cheng, and Wong Jing, sent flower cards to the scene one after another.

Ng's son, relatives and friends arrived at the mourning hall at around 2:30 in the afternoon, and his wife Hou Shanyan at around 3 o'clock.

At 5 p.m., Hong Kong filmmaker Stephen Chow and movie star Andy Lau showed up one after another at the service to mourn for him.

Half an hour later, the media were arranged to enter the mourning hall for filming. Except for his wife Hou who avoided the seat, Ng's younger brothers and his son all attended with solemn expressions.

After that, many showbiz celebrities still came to pay their respects, including Mr. and Mrs. Chan Ka-fai and Leung Siu-bing, Chan Wai Man, Chow Yat-too, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Lok Ying Kwan, Sun Jingan, Money Lo, Kenneth Low, and Xia Yu.

As the funeral service ended at around 8 o'clock, the guests left one after another, while Ng’s relatives and friends left together at 8:39 p.m.

In addition, a public memorial ceremony was set up on the previous day from 6 to 7 in the evening, to allow Ng's fans to see him off for the last time.
