Liaoning Churches Closed Again Due to COVID-19

Upon discovery of new COVID-19 positive cases, some churches in Liaoning province announced on Saturday the suspension of all in-person gatherings till further notice.

Bayuquan District in Yingkou City declared that residents could not leave the district without special reasons, as two positive and three asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 were detected in Yingkou on May 14.

Churches in Lvshunkou District (Dalian), Bayuquan District and Xiongyue Town in Liaoning have notified their congregations of the suspension of on-site gatherings, while some pastors said they had begun to prepare sermons for online Sunday services.

Before receiving the notice from relevant departments, churches in Dalian and Yingkou had implemented disinfection work and other COVID-19 protocols during worship.
