TSPM Churches Across China Mark Centenary of CPC

Registered churches across China celebrated the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) around Thursday.

As Thursday marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, TSPM churches held activities such as patriotic education, calligraphy exhibition, concert, and national flag raising ceremony.

Besides conducting seminars on studying the history of the CPC and patriotic education activities, CCC&TSPM released a series of posts on its WeChat account to remember the day, including the introduction of several patriotic deeds performed by some old churches, patriotic Christian individuals, and the Shanghai YMCA which contributed to the resistance against Japanese aggression during World War II.

An exhibition of 100 Chinese calligraphy, painting, and paper cut was hosted in Jesus Church in Yichun, China’s eastern Jiangxi Province, on June 21, according to the Yichun CC&TSPM.

Local pastors attended a course delivered by an official leader on the Party’s history and went to visit a local historical museum with patriotic elements on the second day.

On June 27, the congregation of Daning Church in Linfen, Shanxi Province, joined a national flag rising ceremony, followed by patriotic hymns sung by the choir. A pastor also preached a sermon titled “Patriotism with Love of Religion” in the Sunday service.

More than 300 people from 23 local churches in Gaizhou, Yingkou, Liaoning Province, participated in a dance reunion in a church on June 22.
