Two churches in China’s southern coastal Guangdong Province announced the suspension of in-person gatherings due to a confirmed case imported from Hong Kong.

In their notices released on May 10th, Meihua Church and Xiangzhou Church in Zhuhai City stated they would suspend opening places for worship and group religious activities. They also reminded believers to keep on reading the Bible, praying, devotional practice, and attending online gatherings during the suspension period.

Zhuhai City on May 9 detected one imported asymptomatic case from Hong Kong. The person has been closed-loop transferred to a centralized isolation site, according to the Health Bureau of Zhuhai.

On May 10, the Chinese mainland found 324 new confirmed cases (10 in Guangdong), and 1603 asymptomatic carriers (10 in Guangdong), the National Health Commission of PRC reported.
