In Romans 4, it tells us that Abraham "grew strong in his faith" and it does urges us to walk in his footsteps; to believe like he did. How can we do this?

"In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, "So shall your offspring be." He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised." (Romans 4:18-21)

1.    Make your faith stronger by looking into God's promise and not your circumstances.

Abraham's situation looked miserable. God promised him descendants but the problem is that he no longer can produce an offspring. Not only that Abraham was 100 years old but his wife, Sarah was also every old and had never been able to bear a child. If Abraham had considered his situation, he would have given up. But, he believed on God's promise and he put his faith onto Him.

2.       Give glory to God

When we look at our situation, we may say that God is not that faithful. We may feel that God is not with us and that He has forsaken us. We may feel that He does not love us but, if we give glory to God, we convince ourselves that God can deliver what he had promised.

Growing stronger in our faith is simple. All we have to do it to look to God's promises and glorify Him.
