Finding true friends in this world is as difficult as finding a lost earring in a dark room. However, once you've find that one person, you should never let them go.

That is how important friendship is.  A lot of times, people associate themselves with bad friends and they end up having a broken heart. Some are fortunate enough to have a friends that is like a brother or sister to them.

However, as Christians, how well do we know God? Is He your friend?

Here are some Bible verses to help you see God as your friend:

Psalm 37:4 - Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Jesus is not just a friend. He is a friend that will never leave us nor forsake us.  But how do we deepen our relationship with God?

Some will tell you to go to church every Sunday or mid-week service. Some will tell you to pray, and some will tell you to read His words.

All of those things are true and you should do them. However, deepening one's relationship with God is like nurturing a plant. We cannot just leave a plant unattended for too long because it might die.

Same goes to our relationship with God.  We cannot just pray to Him for a week, because we want something. Of course, if it is God's will, He will eventually give it to us. However, if we do that, we are nothing but users and not a true friend.

If a friend does that to you, won't you feel sad because that friend only goes to you when he needs something?

God has feelings too; He gets hurt when we do things that are not according to His will.  We break His heart when we use Him for our own benefit.

John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus died for us without asking anything in return.  So it's about high time that we bring back to love that He deserves.

Proverbs 18:24 - A man [that hath] friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.

We may find good friends in this world, but God's friendship is timeless and unchanging. He doesn't ask for anything in return.  To build a solid friendship with God is like building a house.  No matter how big your house is, it all boils down to the foundation of your shelter.  If we make God as the foundation of our life, no matter how may storms, trials and testing we get in our life, God will make us strong.

Jesus is the only answer to our heart that is longing to have a true friend.
