Lately, I have seen a trend going around Youtube dubbed as "The power of music" trend. As I watch the said thread of videos, I have come up with an idea that makeup isn't the only thing in the world that can gravely affect us. Given the fact that we are facing different kind and levels of stress in our lives, there is something so magical on what music can do to us, and one of that is is to keep us calm when the storm is huge.

You see, there is this thing called "How listening to music reduces stress" to some people. Putting make-up on is therapeutic, but for me, listening to music and playing it and even singing it with a group of people is proven to ease the stress that I am feeling.

As Christians, this also applies to us because we do quite a number of congregational singings in our church. We sing in the choir and sometimes, we also sing when we are sad.

One thing is for sure though, "singing gives us power", according to a study by Jane Collingwood. I've read that, The soothing power of music is well-established. It has a unique link to our emotions, so can be an extremely effective stress management tool.

Jesus created such a wonderful thing in this world and that is singing, and having to participate to such ministries will surely give us happiness and contentment.

Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow and quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones. Music, in short, can act as a powerful stress management tool in our lives.

As music can absorb our attention, it acts as a distraction at the same time it helps to explore emotions. This means it can be a great aid to meditation, helping to prevent the mind wandering.

Musical preference varies widely between individuals, so only you can decide what you like and what is suitable for each mood. But even if you don't usually listen to classical music, it may be worth giving it a try when selecting the most calming music.

No matter where we are, or what we do, music has that power that makes us feel a thousand times better.

In conclusion, we must learn to appreciate all the things that God has given to us.
