When you opened your email it says," Notice: Your Account Has Been Overdrawn."
You feel like your world crumbled down. You think why would people take money away from someone who doesn't have it and wonder how will you ever going to dig yourself out from this hole.
Or you look over your budget and you try to decipher a way to make it through until the next paycheck but you are coming up short. Now, you feel like you have lost control.
When you do not have money and your bank account hits zero, you might feel worried. It is easy to spiral into a mess of anxiety, overthinking and fear. But God offers you a way out of anxiety. In his words, he tells us to trade our anxiety for peace.
Take a moment and reflect on God's promises:
1. God wants you to not worry.
"This is why I tell you: do not be worried about the food and drink you need in order to stay alive, or about clothes for your body. After all, isn't life worth more than food? And isn't the body worth more than clothes? Look at the birds: they do not plant seeds, gather a harvest and put it in barns; yet your Father in heaven takes care of them! Aren't you worth much more than birds?" - Matthew 6:25-26
2. God will not let you feel defeated.
"Leave your troubles with the Lord, and he will defend you; he never lets honest people be defeated." - Psalm 55:22
3. God will provide you peace.
"Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
4. God hears and understands your need.
"We have courage in God's presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will. He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him." - 1 John 5:14-15
