In September, Quanzhou Jiangnan Yile Garden, a nursing home in Fujian, was opened to elderly Christians, according to Quannan Church.

Rev. Su Weiyuan, chairman of the Quanzhou TSPM, addressed that the religious community had special advantages in public welfare undertakings like a deep faith foundation and a long history of philanthropic traditions. He expects the senior ministry to reveal genuine love in many ways.

He added that the Quanzhou CCC&TSPM would rely on a senior service development center to encourage local churches to launch ministries that serve the elderly.

Chen Huanguo, the home's president, gave an introduction of the home.

Huang Jingsheng, director of the city's bureau of ethnic and religious affairs, stated that no evangelism was allowed in senior care services and such services should maintain active vigilance against foreign infiltration.

After the opening ceremony, a concert was held to celebrate the good news and the participants had a dinner in the home.
