Chinese Pop Star G.E.M. To Star In “Charming” Film Together With Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne, Ashley Tisdale

Christian Chinese singer-songwriter Gloria Tang Shi-Wing or widely known as G.E.M is one of the artists who contributed much on Asian music industry and has break into US scene with her multi-awarded music. Now, she’s been chosen to be part of a movie.

Tagged as the “Taylor Swift of China”, G.E.M will be joining Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne, Ashley Tisdale, Wilmer Valderrama and Sia Furler in an upcoming American-Canadian 3D computer-animated comedy-musical film entitled “Charming” which will be directed by Ross Venokur and will be produced by John H. Williams and Henry Skelsey. 

“Charming” is about the untold stories of Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty being in love with the same prince charming.

The film was announced on September 18,2014. Production is already on its way in an animation studio in Montreal. 

G.E.M will be joining as a voice cast and she will be singing one of the film’s official song “Trophy Boy” along with Tisdale and Lavigne which was written by Fall Out Boy member Patrick Stump.

"The whole experience is phenomenal. It's going to be my very first song in English. I'm quite nervous,” G.E.M shared in one of the interviews.

Without exact date yet, but production team said “Charming” will hit theatres later this year. 

Meanwhile, it was reported that G.E.M will become a brand ambassador of XCOR,  an American private spaceflight and rocket engine development company wherein the singer will be allegedly  brought in space to perform her two songs that will be broadcasted back to Earth and the singer had agreed to do it.
