It could be viewed that Xiaomi is the Apple version of China.

Reports say that Xiaomi continues to dominate in the Chinese smartphone market, topping record of 26 percent market share in the month of April.

CEO of the smartphone manufacturer Lei Jun posted a chart on Weibo showing that Xiaomi wins the April month against local competitors like Honor, Huawei and LeEco.

Looking at the data presente, Xiaomi sold plenty of phones as its two competitors combined and three times as many as Apple phones.

While the figure only represent just one month, this is actually the first time that a local Chinese smartphone manufacturer company has captured those percentage of consumers, showing that domestic Chinese brands can go against largest brands of the world too.

The Chinese smartphone market is considered the largest in the world. The push of a local Chinese brand to the Western market is already possible but the traffic of Western smartphone brand into China is quite minimal with only Apple having successfully penetrated Chinese market.
