Open Doors USA recently released the annual list of the countries which are most dangerous for Christians.

According to the report, to be a Christian in certain countries can be dangerous. This was concluded after the group tracks Christian persecution from around the globe.

There are 50 countries on the list. According to the watch list, North Korea is the worst place for Christians, followed by Afghanistan.

David Curry, the CEO of Open Doors USA says that the Christian persecution in Muslim countries has gotten worse compared before.

"Nine of the top 10 on the World Watch List this year and the massive majority on the top 50 have the driver of Islamic extremism. This isn't to taint all of Islam, but we have to be clear that there is an Islamic extremist element which must be addressed," Curry said.

The group also noted how Turkey, Egypt and India, who are U.S. allies and supported Donald Trump, Christian persecution is most pervasive.

Curry said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is responsible for the growing anti-Christian sentiment in the country. He also suggested that the United States can use economic leverage support for the Christians in India.
