On March 29, 2018, Rev. Johan Tidemann Johansen from the Lutheran Free Church of Norway was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Ankang, Shaanxi.

When Rev. Johansen was young, he lived with his missionary parents in Ankang and returned to Norway at the age of 12.

Since 1985, the general secretary of the Lutheran Free Church of Norway has paid several team visits to Shaanxi and knew the local three-self church development. He proactively disseminated the situation of the Chinese church to his country. He also invited the church in Shaanxi to visit the church in Norway.

He donated historical files including the full image of eight scenic spots in old Jin Prefecture in 1926, the colorful documentary of Ankang shot in 1947, photos about Ankang and World War II, and over 50 historical accounts of the Republic of China, to Ankang Musem and Ankang Archives.
