How to De-Stress When You Are at the Office

Long hours, countless revisions, endless deadlines and the next thing you know, you forgot to take your lunch break and now you are stressed and even hungry.

No one ever said that office life is easy and stress-free but your are exhausted, you need to step back and take a few moments for yourself. Remember that stress from the workplace may hinder your productivity also, it may affect your mental and physical health. 

Doing these simple steps will help you relax:

1. Take few deep breaths.

Taking slow deep breaths can reduce the tension. Also, inhaling and exhaling will increase oxygen levels, slows down the heart rate making you feel more calm and relaxed.

2. Don't depend on coffee.

There are people who are already dependent to their morning coffee but taking step away from caffeine can help reduce anxiety. According to studies, caffeine triggers anxiety so reaching out a  cup of green tea can be more beneficial for you. Green tea has an amino acid that helps  in calming nerves.

3. Look at memes or funny videos.

Laughter is the best medicine as they say. Laughing releases endorphines that improve your mood and reduces stress hormones like cortisoland adrenaline. Do not be guilty if you spend een 5 to 10 minutes just by watching funny videos on Youtube or even funny memes on Facebook. 

4. Pray

Meditate on what happened and what could be done. Say a little prayer and ask God guidance throughout the day. Surely, not all days are going right for us but making it through the hassle and busy office still is a blessing and another reason to thank God.
