As the year 2019 marked the centenary of the Chinese Union Version Bible, churches across China held different forms of celebrations to commemorate the good news, including popular Bible transcribing campaigns. It was the year when China also produced 200 million copies of the Bible for its own church and the world. Last December, Christmas was considered as a very important festival for Chinese Christians. The second wave of American missionaries - the "North Street Church"  was formally established by the Hartwells in Dengzhou, Shangdong in the 19th century.
