Before the opening of Shanghai Disneyland, several considerations were done to ensure that the resort would offer something unique for both its Chinese and foreign visitors.
Since 2011, the Disney team and its partners have met up to design and develop the resort to incorporate Chinese elements that would reflect China's consumer preferences and the rich culture of the country to the Disney magic known throughout the world. The result of this collaboration is clearly seen in various aspects of the entire resort, giving a Disney experience that would reflect modern China and the identity it has honed for centuries.
Some of the notable examples where Chinese elements would be seen in the resort can be seen in the classic designs of the Wandering Moon Teahouse and the unique Shikumen architecture used in Disneytown. Chinese performers would also give a new interpretation to some of Disneyland's festivals and stage shows and conduct them all in Chinese. The available food and beverage in the park would also show China's preference to diverse and traditional flavors. Chinese flora would also be found in the park, providing a more serene environment for visitors.
Shanghai Disneyland also takes into consideration the preference of Chinese tourists when it comes to the services they are after in resorts and that is the capacity of the destination to cater to family generations and give a peaceful surrounding for them to bond. The 11 acres Gardens of Imagination caters to this desire as it would have enough space for family bondings and a good place to watch the park's various entertainment offerings.
