A sister stated, "There are few young people in the church at our hometown. My husband wants me to work with him, but the church claims that I will sin against God if I work outside the church..." Rev. Liang Zhiyong from a local house church of Henan replied on a WeChat account, "The gospel gives us freedom, not bondage."

He explained that it's her freedom to choose to continue her service in her church or go out for a job. She can make the decision according to her conscience. Neither working outside the church nor serving in the church sins against God. However, take many factors into consideration and calculate the price. Figure out whether you should stay or not for it's understandable that her church wants to retain young people.

The pastor declared that the gospel that allows righteousness through faith makes whatever job you do a sacred calling and all believers are priests. The place where you serve God is not limited to the church. Instead, you serve God in all areas and with all kinds of jobs, even in your family. So don't be frightened by incorrect statements that leaving the church for a secular job is a sin.

Regarding what her church demands, he suggested that she think long term about how to serve the church better even if her hometown desperately needs the gospel. For example, which way is best for her to comprehend the gospel and have a broader vision so that she can have a solid foundation on the gospel, including the view of life according to the gospel,  and serve the church better.

About her family, he adds that church workers should take care of their families since they are the backbone of serving God. Any decision should not be made without considering your family. Don't tear your own family apart for a firm family is a testimony and a strong support of workers' ministries, which the church is not able to do.
