From August 1 to 3, 2018, the Guangdong CCC&TSPM held a retreat for 104 young pastoral workers who served in the province.

The three-day retreat was for pastoral staff with at least five-year work experience in the church and below 40.

Most of the participants were from grassroots churches and played the backbone part. They seldom gathered together and communicated with each other owing to busy ministry and church schedules.

Rev. Liang Ming, chairman of the provincial TSPM, addressed a lecture on the reflections of Sinicization of Christianity from the perspectives of politics, culture, and customs. Rev. Fan Hong'en, president of the Guangdong CCC, gave another lecture about "religious laws and regulations".

In addition, the workers visited two featured churches, Guangzhou Tianhe Church and Shamian Church. They were also divided into groups to share what they learned from the special gathering, difficulties, motivation, and future of their ministries as well as the expectations for the provincial CCC&TSPM's work.
