Conference on “Theological Reflection in New Era China” Held in Hong Kong

On October 26-27, 2018, the conference entitled "Theological Reflection in New Era China" was held in Hong Kong, according to Nanjing Union Theological Seminary.

Sponsored by Hong Kong Lutheran Theological Seminary and Culture Regeneration Research Society (HK), the two-day event included a lecture and four theological conferences. 

Dr. Thomas In Sing Leung, president of the Culture Regeneration Research Society (HK), gave a speech entitled "Faith and the Daoist State of Emptiness and Tranquility" from a cross-cultural perspective. 

Professors and scholars from Peking University, Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, Yanjing Theological Seminary, Fujian Theological Seminary, University of Helsinki, and Hong Kong's seminaries gave speeches covering the sinicization of Christianity, Chinese systematic theology, church social care, and sinicized theology in the context of mainland China, etc. In addition, Mr. Samuel Yung Wing Ki, a member of the National Committee of CPPCC and justice of the peace in HK, said that the churches in mainland China and Hong Kong exist under different contexts and should therefore enhance communication, learn from, and support each other.
