With the return to China of persons infected by the coronavirus, Heilongjiang has become the most severely afflicted area in China.

By mid-April, the total number of confirmed cases in Suifenhe, a Chinese border town adjacent to Russia with a population of only 70,000, reached more than 300, according to CCC&TSPM.

On April 26, the COVID-19 control center in Suifenhe issued a notice designated the city as a key area to control. There is a serious shortage of medical and protective materials in all parts of Heilongjiang Province. More than 30 suspected cases are concentrated in Taoshan Church in Qitaihe City. There are more than 400 employees and elderly people in five church-run nursing homes in the province. They all need protective materials urgently.

The CCC&TSPM responded and contributed 583,400 yuan. With the funds they purchased 150 sets of protective clothing, 500 sets of isolation clothing, 30,000 disposable medical masks, 4000 KN95 masks, 400 protective masks, 400 goggles, 200 forehead thermometers, 20,000 bottles of disinfectant and 10,000 bottles of hand sanitizing gel and sent them to Heilongjiang.

Working closely with the Heilongjiang CC&TSPM, the CCC&TSPM supported the epidemic prevention and control work of 20 different organizations, including Suifenhe Fangcai Hospital (not confirmed), Heihe Port, Qitaihe Taoshan Church, Jiamusi Christian Nursing Home, and First Hospital of Harbin Medical University,
