Singing diva Beyonce dominated 2016 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) as she put on quite a show and let everyone know that she's not God.

The former Destiny's Child lead singer stole the show Sunday night as she rocked the VMA stage in Madison Square Garden with her surprise 15-minute medley performance of the artistically acclaimed "Lemonade."

She started by singing "Pray You Catch Me" followed by the song "Don't Hurt Yourself." As Beyonce sang the line "When you love me, you love yourself. Love God herself," the words "God is God, I am not" flashed onscreen behind her.

She finished off the breathtaking performance with a shorthand symbol for female that ended up looking more like an upside down cross.

The 34-year-old singer-songwriter, record producer and actress was nominated for 11 awards and took home eight including Video of the Year for her song "Formation," Best Female Video, Best Direction, and Best Cinematography.

Beyonce's critically acclaimed album "Lemonade," released in early April, narrated her marital journey with rapper Jay Z. HBO released an hour-long visual album lauded for its cinematic interpretation and artistic genius.

The megastar's visual album also drew criticisms from the conservative circle who perceived her take on Christianity as somewhat "skewed."

The Texas-native grew up a Methodist Christian from a family of Republicans but came to consider herself as more spiritual than religious.

"I am about faith and spirituality more so than religion," the pop star told The Son Christian newspaper, as reported by Cross Rhythms. "Doing right by others and not judging. The thing that keeps me grounded is knowing that I'm always protected and that God is in control of things."

She added that they got the name her former female group Destiny's Child from the Bible.

"For me it is about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what he does for me is something deeply personal," said Beyonce.
