Recently the church across Jiangsu Province continued its annual "Good Shepherd Campaign" to collect donations to support theological education in Jiangsu.

Initiated in 2014, the campaign plans to send hundreds of pastors to preach sermons in local churches in Jiangsu Province, aiming at equipping preachers and raising money to strengthen the theological development.

According to the Suzhou China Christian Council (CCC) & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) a preacher in Suzhou's Gongxiang Church delivered a sermon about having a sacrificing spirit. Later the congregation gave donations during the special offering part of the service.

In Suzhou's St. John's Church, the speaker introduced the Jiangsu Theological Seminary by saying that it was founded in 1998 and has three campuses in Nanjing, Sihong County of Suqian, and Suzhou.

The provincial-level seminary has equipped 1,353 graduates, including 198 students with bachelor of theology degrees, according to its official website. Its five-year plan (2018-2022) indicates the emphasis will be put on training staff, enhancing education quality, and improving teaching conditions.

Professors from the Jiangsu Seminary preached in the churches in Nantong and Qidong. Pastoral staff of Jiangsu's southeastern Nantong gave sermons in other cities, according to the Nantong CCC&TSPM.
