Many Christians may find it easy to laugh about gluttony as a sine and accept it is harmless compared to being adulterer or alcoholic but it is still a sin we should not commit.

Gluttony is a sin in which it is idolizing - a choice to self-love, comfort, and control through foods.

Read these Bible Verses below so that you will understand how serious is God when he said gluttony is a sin.

Ezekiel 16:49

" 'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy."

Genesis 3:6

"When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it."

Deuteronomy 21:20

"They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard."

1 Corinthians 6:12

"I have the right to do anything," you say-but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"-but I will not be mastered by anything."

Deuteronomy 21:20

"They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard."

1 Corinthians 10:7

"Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry."

1 Corinthians 15:32

"If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."
